Sustainable Investment Policy
Asset Management One recognises that, as one of Asia’s leading asset management companies, our investment activities have a significant impact on the global environment and society. We also believe that the realisation of a sustainable global environment and society is essential to achieving mid- to long-term investment returns for our clients. Based on this belief, and fulfilling our fiduciary responsibilities as an asset management company that seeks to “create a sustainable future through the power of investment,” we proactively promote sustainable investment through five actions, guided by our proprietary materiality map that analyses global environmental and social issues.
This policy will be applied progressively to the products we manage (including those for which investment management authority is delegated to external managers), taking into account our clients’ intentions. We will implement sustainable investment practices tailored to the characteristics of the investment assets, regions, and investment strategies involved.

1.ESG Integration
We conduct investment analysis and make investment decisions by appropriately considering not only financial information but also non-financial information, including Environmental (E), Social (S), and Governance (G) factors. Based on the global environmental and social issues identified as priorities in our materiality map, we capture investment opportunities and risks arising from ESG factors by integrating ESG considerations into our investment process (ESG integration), and thereby seek to achieve sound risk-adjusted returns. Our approach to integration places importance not only on financial materiality but also on sustainable materiality, which reflects material issues for society as a whole. In constructing integrated portfolios, we assess the level of companies’ initiatives in addressing these issues, and through ESG integration, we believe that we can contribute to the realisation of a sustainable society.
2. Investments that aim to create positive social impact
As an investment manager that aims to generate positive social impact, we undertake investments designed to create positive social impact in addressing priority global environmental and social issues identified through our materiality map. With respect to impact investments, we measure the impact generated as a result of such investments (social returns) and disclose this information together with the financial returns pursued concurrently.
3. Investments that Support the Transition to a Sustainable Society
We support technological development, innovation, and corporate behavioural change that contribute to the transition to a sustainable society by investing in companies and other entities that actively address the priority global environmental and social issues identified through our materiality map.
*At Asset Management One, the definition of “transition” extends beyond the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. It broadly encompasses transitions of companies and society that can be expected to arise from corporate behavioural change and technological innovation in addressing a wide range of environmental and social issues.
4. Stewardship Activities (Engagement and Voting)
With respect to priority global environmental and social issues identified through our materiality map, we define the level of initiatives we expect from investee companies and conduct constructive, purpose‑driven dialogue (engagement) with investee companies or externally delegated investment managers. In addition, we exercise voting rights for investee companies or review and monitor the voting policies and voting outcomes of externally delegated investment managers. Through these stewardship activities, we work closely with investee companies and encourage initiatives aimed at enhancing corporate value and contributing to the realisation of a sustainable society.
5. Exclusion
While we place particular importance on engaging with investee companies or externally delegated investment managers through stewardship activities to encourage them to meet the expected standards of initiatives regarding the priority global environmental and social issues identified through our materiality map, there may be cases where such efforts do not lead to sufficient improvement. In such cases, we conduct an evaluation against the criteria corresponding to each category within our sustainable investment framework. Where an investee company or an externally delegated investment manager fails to meet the minimum expected standards and no reasonable prospect of improvement is identified, we will refrain from making investments or from delegating investment management authority.
