Initiatives to Implement Fiduciary Duties
— Ensuring the Principles for Customer‑Oriented Business Conduct —

Through investment, AM-One, as a professional asset management company, fulfills its role in supporting clients’ long-term wealth accumulation, the sound growth of companies, and the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society. In doing so, AM-One provides products and services of the highest standards and aims to continue striving to become the asset management company most trusted by its clients.

In order to promote clients’ stable long-term wealth accumulation, AM-One implements Customer-Oriented Business Conduct and provides products and services that truly serve clients’ best interests(hereinafter, the “Products”). As a member of the Mizuho Group, and in accordance with the Group’s initiatives policy, AM-One has formulated the “Initiatives to Implement Fiduciary Duties for Investment Management and Product Development Functions”, as set out below.

(*) Fiduciary duties is a general term for the broad range of various roles and responsibilities that fiduciaries are expected to fulfill when engaging in certain business activities in order to live up to the trust that is placed in them by their customers.

Policy on Initiatives Concerning Investment Management and Product Development Functions

Enhancing Asset Management<Principle 2*1>

  1. By enhancing investment analysis and decision-making capabilities through the strengthening of human resources and the investment management platform, we will aim to provide clients with added value of the highest standard.
  2. To continue providing optimal solutions to clients’ investment management needs, we will continuously pursue improvements in existing investment management approaches and the exploration of new approaches and investment opportunities.

Ongoing initiatives to maintain and improve product quality and to develop and provide products that address customer needs
<Principles 2 and 4; Supplementary Principles 1, 2, 3, and 4>

  1. We will establish a policy to continually provide our customers with better-suited products, develop a framework to implement that policy, and provide appropriate information on that framework.
  2. By accurately identifying our customers’ needs, including those of the ultimate beneficiaries, and verifying, among other things, whether products are sustainable over the medium to long term, we will draw on our professional expertise to develop products that contribute to our customers’ stable asset formation. Decisions on the development of new products will also be made through a highly transparent process and based on objective evaluation.
  3. In developing products, we will identify the types of customers for whom each product is suitable in light of the product’s features, such as its investment objective, risk profile, and complexity. We will also coordinate appropriately with distributors and sales departments, including through post-launch reviews, in order to provide products that are suitable for our customers.
  4. In seeking to provide superior products at a reasonable cost, we will set transparent investment management fees and other charges from the customer’s perspective and provide appropriate information on the details of such fees and charges.
  5. After products are structured, we will respond to changes in the market environment and continuously maintain and improve product quality through periodic risk management and monitoring. We will also regularly verify whether the intended characteristics of the products at the time of structuring are being maintained, and if we determine that they are difficult to maintain, we will take appropriate action, including redemption.

Enhancing the Provision of Information and Services from the Customer’s Perspective<Principles 5 and 6, Supplementary Principle 5>

  1. We will deliver high-quality services with the aim of becoming the first point of consultation for our customers.
  2. With a focus on convenience and ease of understanding, we will provide appropriate information, including information on our investment management framework.
  3. We will work to enhance personnel development and expand services that help improve our customers’ financial and investment knowledge.

Strengthening governance <Principle 3>

  1. To further strengthen our organizational structure with customers’ interests as our top priority, we will build a governance framework of the highest standard in the industry, while further enhancing our independence as an asset management company.
